A Hot, Hot Day

The heat index today was 107°.  In other words, it was HOT!  So we sat in our comfortable air conditioned home all day.

Uh, scratch that.

It’s Camp Creek weekend.  Yep, we spent the day outside.

Did I mention it was hot?

We started the day with the pancake feed.

Noah could have stayed here all day.  He did very politely agree to get out when someone else wanted a turn.  As soon as they stepped out, though, we was climbing back in.

Chopping corn for silage.

Shelling corn.  This one Samuel could have done all day.  I think we need to buy a corn sheller and put him to work.

We kept ourselves well-hydrated, tried to stay in the shade as much as possible, and rewarded our perseverance with ice cream in the afternoon.  It was a fun day in spite of the heat.  We came home sticky, smelly, and dirty.  That really teaches you to appreciate air conditioning and a shower!
