Vacation, Part 1

We are back from our vacation in Branson! We spent the weekend there with Jason's parents, his sister, her husband and their three kids. It was our way of celebrating his parent's 40th Anniversary. We have some friends from church that have a home there they were willing to let us overtake. It was perfect for us--5 bedrooms and lots of room for the kids to roam without being underfoot.

Jason and I saw Noah: The Musical on Thursday night. On Friday morning, we went to the Fish Hatchery and Visitor's Center at Table Rock Lake. We spent the afternoon and evening as a group at Celebration City. Saturday, we took in the Titanic Museum and we rode the Ducks. Then on Saturday night, we experienced the remnants of Hurricane Ike. A huge branch came down, just grazing one of the vehicles (not ours.) And the electricity went out about 3:30 in the morning, so we all went to IHOP for breakfast.

Yesterday was a long day of travel. Today, we're slowly working our way through piles of laundry. If I get caught up, I'll try to post some pictures later in the week.

How roomy was the van for this trip?

We didn't take the van. We took Jason's car, "The X"--the modern station wagon. June and Vern traveled with us and had the stroller, Noah's bed and one of our kids. So we haven't yet tried traveling with all of us and our stuff.
